This is a wonderful program of Alamance Community College for students of Alamance Burlington School System to address racial inequities in the professions of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, veterinary medicine, and related fields.

It was my hope that the budget passed at Monday night’s meeting would have met more of the needs of our schools and our county.

It was a long but lively Alamance County Commissioners meeting Monday night that included a public hearing on the proposed 2018-19 county budget.
In case there is any doubt, this Alamance County Commissioner (i.e. yours truly) has steadfastly supported and championed Alamance County’s public education system in words, deeds, and votes since being elected in 2014, and I will continue to do so if re-elected in November 2018.
Superintendent Bill Harrison is passing to torch to Bruce Benson, set to take over July 1.
I am proud of my hard work as a fiscally responsible commissioner, especially my steadfast support of investing in our schools and our youth.
Being engaged with the NC Association of County Commissioners has given me a deeper understanding of the issues that are important to all counties, making me a better commissioner.
